In an era of corporate journalism, the media industry is willing to experiment with the irrational and the perverse. Youngsters across news channels are fed on the diet of crime, sleaze and entertainment, their baptism complete only when they have touched the new high of grounding a news story at the altar of TRP.
Newsroom Live attempts to capture the shenanigans of the newsroom and its illicit relationship with power corridors and corporate sharks.
PRABHAT SHUNGLU began as a reporter with The Statesman and later worked for the Times of India before switching to TV news. He has reported extensively from the war zones of Kargil (1999), Afghanistan (2001-2002) and Iraq (2003), on national disasters like the cyclone in eastern state of Orissa (2000) and the Gujarat earthquake (2001), on national and provincial elections and interviewed several political personalities including the Prime Minister and the Defence Minister of India.
